Skaalen's pastoral care is an extension
of the ministry of Word and Sacrament
from our local congregations. Our
ordained Lutheran chaplain seeks to
serve the spiritual, social and personal
needs of our residents, families and staff.
We strive to serve the home
congregations and its pastors through
supply preaching, educational programs and community involvement. Our ministry
here at Skaalen is based on our common Christian faith.
Pastoral services available to residents and families include:
- Regular Pastoral visits to all residents
- Pastoral visits during times of special need
- Hospital visits
- Daily morning devotions
- Bible studies at Skaalen and in our retirement communities
- Sunday morning and mid-week worship services
- Monthly communion services
- Seasonal communion services during Advent and Lent
- Skaalen resident choir
- Special festival worship services during Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter and Thanksgiving
- Weekly worship services in our memory care unit
- Funeral and memorial services
